Synergy joins ceda as a Silver Partner

Synergy Grill will help connect the foodservice industry

with a just-announced, ‘Ceda Silver Partnership’

Synergy Grill have today announced a collaboration with the Catering Equipment Distributors Association (ceda) joining the organisation as a Silver Partner. Ceda is a member-led group that is made up of the most professional, innovative and creative companies in the foodservice industry.

As a Silver Partner, Synergy Grill will be working with ceda and its members to stimulate industry interest in their advanced grills but also, to generate further recognition of the essential value of saving money from energy wastage. This will follow on from Synergy Grill’s announcement in July, that their latest brand priority is to help kitchens reduce energy output.

Synergy mainly deals with tops Chefs who value food quality, but this is permeating through to the fast food sector where diners are becoming more discerning.

Added to this, diners are aware of environmental responsibility. Fatbergs are no longer acceptable. With no fat tray to cleanSynergy is leading the environmental technology changes.

The Synergy Grill is the world’s first and only fat-atomising commercial char grill.  Its key attributes lie within its patented design, that reduces fuel consumption on average by 59% (BSI Tested), eliminates the need for a fat tray, therefore offers substantially reduced cleaning costs and has no fat of which to dispose. At the same time, it delivers an enhanced quality of cooked food in terms of taste, succulence and reduced shrinkage. The internationally award-winning grills are to be found in over 600 commercial kitchens in the UK and are increasingly finding a home overseas.  The launch of the new “outdoor mobile cook station” for outdoor events has been very well received this summer and is an example of Synergy’s continual search to innovate and provide world leading products into the market.

 Foodservice for the future

Synergy Grill Chairman, Justin Cadbury said, “We are proud to win this appointment with ceda and will continue to bring the innovation grill technology to our colleagues in the industry for which we are recognised. We believe that the challenges of rising costs for the restaurant owners and more discerning diners combine so we can give the key specifiers the products and technology more suited to the future. Restaurants are increasingly recognising that combining food quality, better cleanliness, lower energy costs is the best way forward.”

Synergy Grill aim to reduce energy output of commercial kitchens by 59%

Chairman and Innovator Justin Cadbury, is great-great grandson of Cadbury’s founder John Cadbury and is proud to be innovating the food industry himself

Synergy Grill have today announced a new brand priority and awareness campaign, which will encourage the reduction of energy output in commercial kitchens so as to demonstrate new ways to save money and be more environmentally responsible in the food industry. The entire Synergy workforce are fully behind the new company plans to demonstrate new ways to save energy to the food industry.

This awareness push will be driven through: social media, talks, catering industry events, trade shows and live cookery demos on the Synergy Grill, which cuts gas usage by an average of 59% compared to standard grills.

This campaign comes at an important time as the casual dining sector looks to make changes to reduce costs, encourage customers through the door and be more environmentally friendly. In the past, energy costs for restaurants have been almost unreasonably high. With recent changes in technology, owners and chefs can take advantage to reduce energy consumption and improve their bottom line.

All Synergy Grill products are invented and made in the UK, they use no fat tray and reduce ventilation strain whilst keeping them cleaner. Developed to create better tasting, healthier foods with low energy usage, Synergy Grill helps save money and the planet. With money saved on energy, Synergy Grill products pay for themselves within a year allowing restaurants to deliver a better food product at a lower cost base…

Using patented burner technology, the clever one-switch Synergy Grill halves energy consumption versus average conventional grills. Synergy Grill already helps many International chains and Michelin star restaurants including TGI, Galvin Hop, Brains Brewery, Italian Villa and Firmdale Group.

Safeguarding energy and a UK supply chain

Justin Cadbury, Chairman of Synergy Grill, said: “Energy costs are a major burden to restaurants and they are always going up – so delay to upgrading means greater costs into the future to the restaurant. Diners and chefs want the synergy of best quality food taste at lower cost. I am excited to start a mission, encouraging the industry to change their behaviours and energy output.”

The Cadbury family challenged global perceptions about British food and safeguarded the heritage of the iconic Cadbury brand for near 200 years. “With Synergy Grills, we look forward to challenging mainstream attitudes to wasteful energy usage within the food industry for decades to come as well as promoting British technology”.

Synergy Grill joins forces with ENSE and steps up service contracts for customers

Synergy Grill has announced a partnership with UK buying consortium ENSE, making their innovative, energy efficient grills available through the ENSE extensive distribution system.
The company has also introduced Enhanced Service Contracts for its customers.
ENSE was formed in 2012 and promises greater buying power for distributors which, in turn, generates greater sales for manufacturers.
Justin Cadbury, Synergy Grill CEO and Chairman, said: “Synergy Grill has become a product of choice for many top chefs with major names such as Tom Aikens, Cyrus Todiwala, Rick Stein, Shaun Rankin and Mark Hix now choosing our grills. ENSE gives Synergy Grill an opportunity to work with its extensive list of distributers, and increase market exposure.
“The buying consortium model is still relatively new in the UK, but ENSE has quickly grown to offer a platform for suppliers to highlight reliable products and giving distributors the ability to source the latest products/technology especially those British made. We look forward to developing a mutually beneficial relationship.”
ENSE brings together suppliers and distributors for conferences and learning events, ensuring that ENSE distributors are aware of the features and benefits of products available from the consortium’s manufacturing members.

Justin Cadbury explained: “For many commercial kitchens, the Synergy Grill lies at the heart of its operations. Our new service contract gives buyers peace of mind as each Synergy Grill will be maintained by a dedicated company engineer, ensuring all working pressures are set properly for correct operation and longevity. Our engineers will also give customers advice on best practice regarding daily maintenance routines.

Synergy receives over £250,000 of investment funds

Synergy Grill, a pioneering chargrill manufacturer based in Cambridgeshire, has received over £200,000 of investment from private investors. The successful initial round of funding is part of a larger fundraising process designed to finance a targeted marketing and sales strategy.

The success comes after Synergy Grills have been installed into over 200 dining outlets in the UK and South Africa. The reasons for the chargrill’s popularity have been attributed to the unique benefits of cutting gas consumption by an average of 52% and as fat is instantly atomised there’s no fat tray to clean and this removes the need to responsibly dispose of fatty waste. Finally, it produces better tasting and more succulent food as vapour is re-dispersed back into food as it is atomised.

The objective now is to make Synergy Grill and its advanced British technology the ‘grill of choice’ for modern catering establishments, starting in the UK with the opportunity to spread globally.

Synergy Grill comments: “It’s a great bit of British kit. Chefs are happy as they have a grill that’s cool to cook over all day, fast, makes food seriously succulent and tasty and there’s no fat tray to clean daily. Proprietors are happy too as has bills are halved, Synergy Grills don’t need to be on all day because they heat up in 20 minutes which reduces the cost per plate and they don’t have to responsibly dispose of fatty waste any more.”

Benefits of the Synergy grill:

  • Moister, more succulent food
  • High heat, low gas consumption
  • Average gas saving of 52%
  • Fat instantly atomised – no need to clean a fat tray
  • Cool to cook over

  • Thermal shock resistant
  • Sharp branding on meat
  • No cross flavouring between different types of food
  • Reduced stress on ventilation systems

How does it work?

The Synergy Grill revolves around a patented gas burner system which works at an incredibly hot temperature. High heat atomises fat so there’s no fat tray for chefs to clean and they don’t need to worry about the disposal of fatty waste.

The water vapour that’s released from the fat is also absorbed back into the food, creating a juicier, more intense flavour.

By incorporating gas and air in addition to using heat capturing ceramic technology Synergy grills use 52% less gas. This results in less CO2 residue than a convention burner creating cleaner vapour for chefs to work over.

This patented system also prevents any cross-flavouring of meats or fish through smoke contamination. The SG630 works on a single burner. The SG900 and SG1300 feature independent burners with their own on/off switches to allow for modular cooking.

Synergy Grills also route cool air around the grill to produce cool touch surfaces, making them less hot to cook over.

Clients include:
