Gas Calculator Assumptions
CO2 Saving
- Calculations are based on natural gas.
- KW taken from the manufacturers own websites and correct as of 13/10/19
- Calculation of CO2 as follows:-
Natural Gas |
Weight |
||
1 metre cube |
Methane |
0.554 |
|
1 metre cube |
Oxygen |
1.293 |
|
1 metre cube |
Carbon Dioxide |
1.836 |
|
1 metre cube |
Water vapour |
0.554 |
- Formula used is CH4 + 2O2 = CO2 + 2H2O
- Each burner on a Synergy Grill uses 0.603 m3 of methane. Not 1M3 in an hour
- We have used the difference to work out CO2 weight of that amount of methane burnt
- Calculation per hour of amending the Carbon Dioxide weight to equal .603m3 methane being used in an hour of 1.107108
- Declarations of how much CO2 is produced from natural gas, from reputable websites appear to range between 0.18kg/kwh and 0.20kg/kwh.
- For our calculator, we have used the average of 0.19kg/kwh
- Therefore our calculator uses the amount of CO2 produced in 1 hour on the basis of 0.19kg per Kwh times the declared amount of kwh per piece of equipment times the length of time using the information entered by the person using the calculator.

- All other numbers are calculated using the users on numbers entered. Working on the assumption that…
- You can reduce your cleaning time by 40 minutes to 10 minutes
- You will half the number of duct cleans per year (this however will assume that you will be doing more than 1 a year which is the legal minimum standard) Operators should continue to use the recommendations of their duct cleaning company as to what is required.
